are pleased to announce that Avitar has recently acquired Terra-Map.
Going forward, the Terra-Map division of Avitar will continue to
provide all of the mapping services you have come to rely on from
Terra-Map, combined with a level of support and customer service that
can be offered by a larger organization.
For those of you who are not familiar with us, Avitar is a New Hampshire based corporation specializing
in providing municipal services to a diverse array of New Hampshire and Vermont communities.
Avitar was started in 1986 by Gary Roberge to provide professional assessing consulting services to
the New Hampshire towns of Lee, New Castle and Rollinsford. Since its inception, in addition to
continuing to provide professional assessing services, Avitar has developed its own integrated suite of
municipal software applications which today includes products for assessing, tax collections, building permits,
utility billing, town clerk and motor vehicle tailored individually for both New Hampshire and Vermont.
This development has accelerated since 2000 when Josh Arend joined Avitar’s software division,
following six years and countless summers working for his father at Terra-Map.
As Roger Arend recently began to ponder the future of Terra-Map as he approaches retirement,
the possibilities and benefits of a merger with Avitar were clear immediately. Beyond the obvious
familial relationship, the advantages are numerous:

Upwards of 75% of Terra-Map’s clients already contract with Avitar for assessing and/or software services.

The two companies have worked in coordination for more than a decade, first and foremost with the seamless
integration of GIS data provided by Terra-Map within Avitar’s Assessing application.

Dating back to his years at Terra-Map, Josh has a thorough understanding of the unique technical
aspects of digital mapping.

Like Terra-Map, Avitar is sensitive to the specific challenges faced by municipalities -- challenges
that are altogether distinct from private-sector clients -- as well as the high degree of interoperability,
so to speak, required between the tax maps and assessment data within a community, an expertise that Avitar
has that no other tax map company, to our knowledge, can offer. -
As a larger organization, Avitar can provide a level of support beyond that of a one-man operation.

Above all, Avitar maintains an unparalleled reputation
for customer service and will continue to do so with our new tax map
operation.
As we proceed with the process of integrating Terra-Map into Avitar, we are committed to ensuring that
you do not experience any inconveniences. As of now, Terra-Map’s Enfield office has been closed, so you should
direct your calls to Avitar at (603)798-4419. However, Roger will continue to work within the Terra-Map division at
Avitar. In the initial months (conveniently located at a time after most of you have already completed your annual
tax map updates) Roger will be working to get the new Terra-Map division of Avitar up to speed on the particulars
of each of your tax map specifications and deliverables. With the exception of the addition of the name Avitar to the
logo in the corner, you will not notice any changes in the tax maps you receive.
Throughout 2009, we anticipate that Roger’s responsibilities will diminish as the rest of us at Avitar are able
to meet all of your mapping needs, allowing him to immerse himself fully in his well-earned retirement. However,
while his interaction in the day to day aspects of Terra-Map will, by design, lessen, Roger will continue to be
available as an invaluable resource to both Avitar and your community long into the foreseeable future.

while at the same time making the annual process of updating mapping and assessment data as seamless as possible.
